Menace Beach, The Black Tambourines and Holy Crutches for Monthly Club Night At The Shacklewell Arms

We’re kicking off our birthday celebrations in style with a new monthly club night at The Shacklewell Arms. Starting on Friday 8 May with Menace Beach, The Black Tambourines and Holy Crutches, the night will go until late with End Of The Road DJ’s providing the tunes once the bands are done. Tickets are £7 + fees, and are available now here: http://bit.ly/1GezSWE

In a bid to bring some of that Larmer Tree magic to London town, the monthly club night will be chance to have a proper dance to some old school 45’s – playing classics from soul, psych, garage and rock n roll, as well as discovering new talent that may end up headlining the festival one day. Along with the live bands, the night will offer up special guests, surprise DJ’s, dance competitions and everything you would expect from our team to keep you entertained until September.

Laura Marling, Mac DeMarco, Low and more added to 2015 line-up

We are thrilled to add Laura Marling to this year’s already outstanding line up. Having just released her fifth album Short Movie to universal acclaim, Laura returns to the festival for the third time.

Salad Days man Mac DeMarco also joins the bill, bringing his “Jizz-Jazz” groove to Larmer Tree Gardens whilst Minnesota indie legends Low will be bringing 10 studio album’s worth of ‘slowcore’ anthems to hypnotise your mind.

Toronto’s hardcore trio Metz are set to cut through the weekend’s tranquillity with their sludge punk, Sheffield duo Slow Club are poised to inject some pop into proceedings, whilst Illinois native Ryley Walker will have you mesmerised with his guitar picking skills.

Each year, EOTR gives new and/or unsigned artists the chance to perform at the festival. This year they received over 2000 applications and have chosen three new acts from an incredibly talented pool of submissions:

Opening the Woods stage will be the exuberant, Paul Russell led, orchestral ensemble Human Pyramids. Glaswegian lo-fi electro-pop duo Miracle Strip will feature on the forthcoming End of The Road x Rough Trade Shops compilation. London garage-pop purveyors LOVE L.U.V have been invited to join the 10 year celebrations too, bringing with them a combination of 60s era Beatles pop and raw, raucous energy.

2015 Headliners Revealed for the End of the Road’s 10th Anniversary!

Following glowing reviews for 2014’s exceptional festival (including 5/5 from both The Guardian and The Independent and a whopping 10/10 from the NME), End of the Road Festival is excited to announce its tenth anniversary headliners.

Playing his first ever UK festival, Sufjan Stevens will perform on the Woods Stage on Saturday night, following Australia’s psychedelic victors Tame Impala on Friday. Sunday night will see the critics’ album of 2014 holders The War On Drugs play their only summer festival in the UK this year.

After a blowout performance on Letterman, Future Islands will be bringing their dance moves and infectious grooves to the intimate settings of Larmer Tree Gardens, whilst Mercury nominated Scottish four piece Django Django will be ready to play tracks from their hugely anticipated second album (due this Spring).

Making their way from Perth, Pond will be bringing the psychedelic freak-outs, Toronto five-piece Alvvays bring the fuzz pop, while Ty Segall brings his band Fuzz. Spacebomb Records newcomer, and everyone’s favourite one to watch for this year, Natalie Prass has got the triumphant soul thing covered whilst controversial post-punk crusaders Sleaford Mods and South London’s Fat White Family bring the anarchy.

Following the announcement of Carrie & Lowell, his first album in four years, Sufjan Stevens will headline the three-day festival making End of the Road his first ever UK festival performance. Furthermore, this will be Stevens’ only UK festival date this year and his second ever festival appearance anywhere in the world.

End of The Road 2015 takes place from 4-6 September 2015 at Larmer Tree Gardens in Dorset.

Call for Art Installations

Stumbling through the woods at End of The Road means encountering a string of wonderful contraptions and installations. Many of these are built by our in house decor team, though some are provided by artists that have been through our application process.

It will be the same again in 2015, we’re on the hunt for any beautiful, thrilling, fun, intriguing or exciting outdoor art installations which will be spread around the festival site.

Applications are now open! Head here to find out more.

Unsigned Band Applications for 2015 are now open!

Our unsigned band applications are now open!

We’ve always supported new, unsigned acts and our 10th year will be no different. Although, this year one of the selected artists will open one of the Major Stages (Woods, Garden, Big Top) and one will feature on Rough Trade’s End Of The Road 2015 CD. If you are chosen as the act to open one of the Major Stages you will still be eligible for the Rough Trade compilation feature, (and vice versa) – the two opportunities aren’t mutually exclusive but they won’t necessarily go to the same act.

The deadline for applying is 13 February.

Christmas Special with Stealing Sheep and Kiran Leonard announced

We are incredibly excited that Stealing Sheep are headlining this years End Of The Road Christmas Special and bringing their Mythopoeia procession: elements of the The Harlequin Dynamite Marching Band plus fantastical puppets and projections. This is going to be a real spectacle, not just a gig: just what we need before Christmas.

Support will be provided by the absurdly talented Kiran Leonard, whose two EOTR performances stunned all that saw them.

End Of The Road DJ’s will continue the craziness until 2am.

Oslo, Hackney is right beside Hackney Central Overground station.
