Formed in 2019 by Owen Williams and George Nicholls (of much-loved disbanded Welsh noise-pop band Joanna Gruesome) The Tub tap into the chiming sound of 80s college rock, post-punk, traditional British folk, and Cleaners From Venus-esque jangle-pop. The band have garnered praise in MOJO, Stereogum and Pitchfork, with the latter describing their 2023 debut album Dead Meat as “the crispest, jangliest record yet.”
