Forget everything you thought you knew about Sharon Van Etten: her decades of pained love songs and the adolescent crunch of her biggest hit Seventeen have been the result of solo introspection but her work with The Attachment Theory in tow is totally new. Writing with a band for the first time since her breakout in the early 2010s, songs came about through jam sessions resulting in rich, velvety tones and sumptuous harmonies that feel like breaking through the fog into the brightness of day.
