Beginning as the bedroom project of Ukrainian frontman Theo Zhykharyev, Powerplant found its footing when joined by three members of the UK hardcore scene- Cam Pickering (synths), Lloyd Clipson (drums) and Karim Newble (bass)- who met Theo via 4chan. Combining sizzling synths with experimental visuals and sound design, their releases so far include debut LP People in the Sun, post-punk EP A Spine / Evidence and 2023’s dungeon synth release, Stump Soup. All-encompassing and ever-evolving, we’re delighted to welcome Powerplant’s experimental artistry to Larmer Tree Gardens.
