Mohammad Syfkhan has been performing since his days as a nursing student in Syria in the 1980s. Resettled in Ireland after the war broke out, he began using music as a way to integrate into his new local community: and by 2023 he was opening for Lankum at Cork Opera House. His endlessly danceable music is full of joy and hope, incorporating Middle Eastern and North African elements centred around his beloved bouzouki.
