Fatoumata Diawara, Panda Bear & Sonic Boom, The Murder Capital, Samia and more join End of The Road 2023

HELLO FRIENDS!

With just over five months to go until End of the Road 2023, we’re delighted to reveal another haul of bands to be added to this year’s lineup.

Joining King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Angel Olsen, Ezra Furman, Future Islands, Arooj Aftab, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Wilco in the gardens will be Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and activist Fatoumata Diawara, experimentalists and long-time collaborators Panda Bear & Sonic Boom, Irish post-punkers The Murder Capital, groove-inducing duo Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, and much more.

American outfit Deerhoof – fronted by the incredible Japanese singer Satomi Matsuzuki – will bring their sugary, punkish experimentalism to End of The Road, alongside your new favourite angsty cult artist Samia with raw, and hook-ridden indie pop.

If you’re a fan of rousing vocals and propulsive beats you’ll be in electronic music heaven with Colombian-born Ela Minus’ incredible live show, plus DJ sets from Welsh vocalist, producer and DJ Elkka and eclectic mover of bodies Marie Davidson. BBC Radio 6’s Tom Ravenscroft will also be bringing his electric DJ set back to the festival.

In other news, we managed to find a handful of End of the Road 2023 extra caravan passes. If you missed out before, they’re available on our website now. Be quick, we don’t think they’ll last long.

As ever, there is always so much to explore across the lineup.

The adventurous listener in you knows there’s no better place than End of The Road… Cue ‘classical’s new queen of weird’, Héloïse Werner who will join forces with Colin Alexander for what is sure to be an unforgettable performance of virtuosic works for voice and cello. Former National Youth Poet Laureate Kara Jackson will be performing her low and tender folk, whilst experimental NYC group 75 Dollar Bill will bring in shamanic drones and fuzzed-out guitar.

SYLVIE‘s sepia-tinged ethereal folk-rock will be a show not to be missed, Sessa will guarantee enigmatic and visceral Brazilian popular music whilst Australian duo Royel Otis will grace festival-goers with their endlessly catchy indie-pop. Plus Garage rocker and Vermont eccentric King Tuff, Cardiff-born polymath H. Hawkline, and art punk Londoners HMLTD.

Roll on September!

NEW ADDITIONS FOR END OF THE ROAD 2023:

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Future Islands, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Wilco Headline End of the Road 2023!

It seems like it was only yesterday that we were celebrating in a field together at End of the Road 2022. It was quite a year with an excess of magical memories made and all-around 5-star reviews. Now, the wait is over. Say hello to our first wave of acts playing End of The Road 2023.

LAST REMAINING TICKETS HERE

Neo-psychedelia legends King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, will bring their whirling, experimental sounds to the Woods Stage, alongside fellow kings of the genre Unknown Mortal Orchestra – whose fuzzy psychedelic pop will have you dancing all weekend long. Also joining us are Baltimore-based pervasive synth-pop disruptors Future Islands and masterful country-adjacent indie rock icons and Grammy Award winners Wilco – who will kick things off on Thursday night.

Indie favourite Angel Olsen will (finally) return to End Of The Road, whilst trailblazing Pakistani composer Arooj Aftab will introduce us to her Grammy-winning ambient jazz.

And we’re just getting started …

Also on this year’s stellar lineup is Ezra Furman whose album All Of Us Flames was one of last year’s highlights whilst Greentea Peng’s debut MAN MADE set the Londoner out as one of the UK’s most exciting new artists whilst fellow South Londoner and much-hyped MC Flohio, will be making her festival debut this year following a non-stop 2022.

There’s plenty of electronic music on offer in 2023; you’ll want to discover Singaporean newcomer yeule and, having recently announced their highly anticipated debut album, Overmono will supply you with that much needed late night energy

For you, adventurous listener, we will host experimental music in all incarnations: radical electronic music collective KOKOKO! from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, South London’s blistering electronic trio PVA, as well as Baltimore’s hip-hop experimentalists Infinity Knives & Brian Ennals. Other jazz-adjacent performers include multi-instrumentalist Donna Thompson and avant-garde cellist from Guatemala Mabe Fratti.

There’s a strong presence of progressive, folk-leaning songwriters on this year’s bill including the return of poetic country-pop icon Cass McCombs and genre-defying balladry from the up-and-coming alt-folk collective caroline.

Fans of post-punk that leans into the avant-garde will have plenty to feed on, Horse Lords will be bringing their hypnotic, pulsating grooves to Larmer Tree Gardens and, hotly tipped for success this year, London trio bar italia will return to End of the Road having been a word-of-mouth sensation at last year’s festival.

Now, only 212 days to go.

In the meantime, you can listen to the entire lineup HERE

End of The Road 2022 Comedy Lineup Revealed

HELLO FRIENDS!

With just over three weeks to go before End of The Road opens its gates, we’re thrilled to announce 2022’s comedy lineup, including Alistair Green, Mike Wozniak and Jessica Fostekew as well as Kiri Pritchard-Mclean, Rob Auton, Fern Brady and many more.

EXPLORE THE FULL LINEUP HERE

First up, the master of deadpan and former Taskmaster contestant Mike Wozniak brings his stand-up to End of The Road on Friday night, whilst, after keeping us entertained online throughout the pandemic, Alistair Green will be with us in real life on Saturday.

Ahir Shah will take us on an eloquent exploration of identity, faith, family and the desire for certainty in uncertain times; Wales native Kiri Pritchard-McLean brings her acerbic wit and Scotland’s Fern Brady effortlessly takes on big topics like ageing, death and neurodiversity.

An intellectual, engaging, yet entirely unpretentious set is to be expected from Katie Mulgrew whilst Josh Pugh, loved for his gloriously compelling short character videos on Twitter, will be delivering punchlines which seemingly come from nowhere. On Sunday Joey Page will take us for a dip into the surreal with his cult observational comedy.

Australia-born Bec Hill will display her unforgettable and self-taught performance style, whilst the deadpan, musical stylings of Huge Davis see himself strapped to a giant keyboard.

We’re thrilled to welcome Rob Auton back to deliver his unique intertwining of comedy, theatre, poetry and spoken word, whilst Will Duggan brings his stories from everyday life peppered with a high hit rate of jokes and his brand of cheerful cynicism.

Jessica Fostekew, regular co-host of the behemoth The Guilty Feminist, wears her smarts on her sleeve; expert storyteller Sarah Bennetto brings her engaging stand-up performance full of joy and big laughs; and Tom Parry & Ben Clark – two-thirds of sketch group and podcast team Pappy’s welcome plenty of silliness, games and lots of wayward chat.

And the world’s greatest music-intro-based-comedy-game-not-quiz returns to End of The Road once more with Ringo: Music Bingo Show.
