Beginning as the lo-fi experimental folk project of Merrill Garbus, Tune-Yards’ sound has evolved over a decade into a patchwork of vibrant sounds built from dense electronic textures, field recordings, an enviable array of percussion instruments, strong soulful vocals and endless loops. From 2009’s breakthrough Bird-Brains to 2020’s stand-alone single “nowhere, man”, Garbus’ has always added her voice to the fight against the injustices of the world – though in her own abstract, absurd and surreal manner. Having last graced our stages in 2014, we’re excited to welcome her and long time collaborator Nate Brenner back to End of The Road next summer.
