Ari Blaisdell and Matt Jones make up System Exclusive, a Pasadena-based two-piece armed with an array of vintage mini synths who create heart-throbbing dance-pop with a hint of post-punk. Drawing on the dark synth-pop of the 80s ala Depeche Mode with Blaisdell’s shimmering vocals, their self-titled debut is “a post-apocalyptic, post-punk electro bop”. What’s not to love?
