Sandro Perri has been making intriguing and captivating music for over 20 years – his sound moves effortlessly from gloriously spacious electronica to rolling post-rock. Surprisingly, he has only released three albums under his own name; a lot of his music has been recorded under his many aliases, like Polmo Polpo, Glissandro 70, Off World plus as a member of Barzin and Great Lake Swimmers.
Last year’s In Another Life (released on Montreal’s consistently brilliant Constellation Records) was his first solo album in seven years and it’s utterly hypnotic. The title track, in particular, is enthralling – a quietly epic 24-minute cyclical composition that sees Perri adding seemingly endless musical elements to the synth line the track languidly builds and builds. Get ready to be mesmerised.
