SAMIA

New York native Samia Finnerty was writing songs and playing at open mics by her mid-teens. Inspired by poets Maya Angelou and Anne Sexton, her sometimes angsty indie rock songs combine vulnerable lyrics and easygoing hooks. Having escaped NYC for Nashville during the pandemic in early 2021, this year saw the release of her second album, Honey, described by Pitchfork as ”Marnie from Girls’ indie-rock album”.
