Sunderland’s Brewis brothers are two of our favourite musicians. As Field Music, their sound is a masterclass in smartly crafted hooks. Jerky, post-punk rhythms rub shoulders with baroque orchestrations to create warm, rich pop and a sound that is unmistakably theirs.
They never run out of ideas either. Their latest record – their eighth – is maybe their most ambitious yet: a concept album about history post-World War I which once again showcases their classic, but inventive songwriting. They’re frequent visitors to Larmer Tree and we’re delighted they’ll be returning this year.
