As Bright Eyes, Conor Oberst’s band made literary and political music that was at once rabble-rousing, impassioned and largely introspective. Records like Lifted and I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning were stunning, life-defining records for so many people (including us).
But The People’s Key in 2011 was the band’s last album before Conor seemingly retired the group. So to say we’re excited they’re returning may be somewhat of an understatement. We’ve had “Lua” and “Four Winds” loudly playing on the stereo since we heard the news. Conor played with his The Mystic Valley Band here all the way back in 2008 and now we can’t wait for our first Bright Eyes show.
