Vaudou Game

Afro-soul and tropical funk record label Hot Casa Records know a thing or two about afro funk, so it’s no surprise that the latest record from the mind and soul of Togo-born Peter Solo is a blistering, summery masterpiece.

In 2012, Peter Solo got together in Lyon, France, with a band of six members called Vaudou Game. Their intention was to combine Vaudou tradition with blues, funk and the rhythm and blues of James Brown, Otis Redding or Wilson Pickett. Hearing the dazzling results in songs such as “Pas Contente” makes you wonder why no one thought of doing it before.
