Inspired by the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Aphex Twin, and adopting her grandmother’s nickname, Pixx is Hannah Rodgers – a young songwriter whose creates beguiling pieces of wonderfully warped pop.
A graduate of the Brit school, her music possesses the same heavenly qualities as fellow 4AD label-mates Cocteau Twins or Blonde Redhead, with a little bit of Grimes thrown in for good measure. She released her debut EP Fall In in 2015 and followed that up with fantastic single “Baboo” – another dose of dreamy, otherworldly brilliance. Best of all is “Grip”, her most direct hook-crammed track yet. It’s a bold statement of intent from an artist we’ve fallen in love with.
