The theatrical goth-pop singer from the North East is an independent, uncompromising artist – it’s what makes her music so vital and enthralling. Watching her live, at times she could be some sort of distant relation of Anna Calvi and Marlene Dietrich, fronting Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Her second album, Fast Food, built upon the sounds of her debut to create something altogether a bigger and fuller. You only need listen to the crackling “Stealing Cars” – it’s the sound of an artist who is flourishing creatively and brimming with ideas.
