When Lowly first appeared with a run of wonderful singles in 2014, the Danish five-piece seemed like a band already fully formed: the sound so rich and full it was like being put under a magical spell. Their effervescent debut “Daydreamers” was the pick of a brilliant reverb-heavy bunch.
On their full-length debut Heba, released through Bella Union, they took a huge creative leap forward, with a richer and more eclectic sound. The dream pop and shoegaze elements were still there but there were also inventive rhythms and rich textures. It was a challenging, immersive and spellbinding listen with songs like “Still Life” a heady highlight. Come to see them and soak all that atmosphere up.
