Let’s Eat Grandma

Friends since the age of four, Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth have been making music since they were 13 and the bond is evident: the pair have created their own, self-contained world. Let’s Eat Grandma – the name of they’ve given themselves – shows two immensely talented multi-instrumentalist 17-year-olds from Norwich who seem to have zero interest in tailoring their outsider pop to current tastes.

Their sound may evoke the Cocteau Twins and Fiona Apple but it is also completely their own – just listen to the bewildering and brilliant “Eat Shiitake Mushrooms”. They describe this sound as “psychedelic sludge-pop” and this alluring strangeness extends to their live show. Dancing, rapping, recorder solos. It’s all there.
