L.A. avant-pop musician Julia Holter makes mesmerising music. Her fourth album, the brilliant Have You in My Wilderness, was loved universally. She was compared to Kate Bush and was awarded best album of 2015 by Mojo and Uncut. “Feel You” and “Everytime Boots” showcased a rare talent – the album pulsing with wit, artistry, as well as beautiful sweeping melodic crescendos and dramatic flourishes.
Since then her star has only risen; she played the biggest UK headline show of her career at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire and scored the soundtrack for the new Miles Teller film Bleed For This. She’s also released In The Same Room, a career-spanning collection recorded over 2 days by Julia and her tremendous band. It’s a reminder to anyone who has witnessed her brilliant, charismatic band on tour what a brilliant live act she is.
