Not content with producing Father John Misty and Conor Oberst, singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Jonathan Wilson has also made three startlingly good solo albums too.
His third solo release, the ambitious “maximalist” album titled Rare Birds, features contributions from one of last year’s headliner, the one and only Father John Misty, Lana Del Rey, and New Age music legend Laraaji and is absolutely brilliant. It sees him using familiar sounds to take you on a totally new journey. It’s sprawling psychedelic epic, taking in everything from Pink Floyd grandeur to wild jazz. If you don’t believe us, just listen to the epic and romantic “Over The Midnight”. This is going to sound SO good live.
