If you’ve ever listened to Jens Lekman (and we’ve done that A LOT) you’ll know that he’s one of the most unique and observant writers around today. And like most of pop’s greatest songwriters, he has a knack for making his personal experiences universal.
Throughout his career, the Swedish songwriter has shone his light on a range of hopeless moments, from missed encounters with Kirsten Dunst, to flirting with a deaf girl in sign language and his inability to dance the funky chicken.
His terrific 2005 record Oh You’re So Silent Jens was followed by the dazzling Night Falls Over Kortedala and the critically acclaimed I Know What Love Isn’t. This year he’s treated us to Life Will See You Now. It’s a career highlight – just listen to the first single “What’s That Perfume That You Wear?” It smells great.
